JOY LYN'S CANDIES TAKES HOME GOLDEN SPOON AWARD AT PARADISE COOK OFF

Joy Lyn's Candies was honored to take home the "Golden Spoon Award" at the Boys & Girls Club Paradise Cook Off fundraiser in March. They also won top honors for "Best in Dessert" category and the "People's Choice Award." Joy Lyn's Candy Maker, Glenn Hartley, was thinking outside the candy box to dream up the Chookie and Ice Cream dessert that won the prizes. Taking an old family recipe for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies then dipping them in delicious chocolate made the "Chookie." And what's a Chookie with a little vanilla ice cream? It proved to be a winning combination! The judges said it was a difficult decision to pick a winner from all the delicious food cooked by community chefs.

Joy Lyn's Candies is a long time supporter of the Boys & Girls Club and the Paradise Cook Off fundraiser. the Boys & Girls Club has 5 locations on the ridge and serves youth from ages 6 - 18, where they can find quality after school programs and services.
